A reference book that packs a punch: "Conformal Coatings for Electronics Applications" by Dr. Manfred Suppa is 527 pages long and describes in great detail with 329 illustrations and in 112 tables the areas of application, requirement profiles, characteristics as well as the processing of conformal coatings for electronics. It was published in 2010 by company founder Werner Peters. On the occasion of last year's anniversary, the 50 years of Lackwerke Peters, we would like to delve deeper into this comprehensive work for practitioners and experts and summarise what can be found in terms of content.
"Every day is a stroke of luck for me here." Maxim Wetzel is a production specialist at the chemical company Peters in Kempen. The 23-year-old loves his job. Producing coatings, mixing resins, filling and sealing containers, packing the containers ready for dispatch - these are tasks that come easily to the young man. The man from Kempen has been working as a chemical worker at Peters for five years. "You have to work cleanly and carefully," says the native Ukrainian who came to the Lower Rhine area at the age of three and has now been living in Kempen with his wife for three years.
Peters Research turns 26 this year: The research and development department enjoys an excellent reputation not only with customers worldwide, but also locally at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences which the family-owned company has been cooperating with for many years, and which recently became a partner for the junior researcher programme launched by the NRW Ministry of Science. The aim of this programme is to qualify young scientists for a professorship at a university of applied sciences. Right now, one of these scientists, Dr. Christian Schmitz is present at Peters.
